Urgent praxis core math

Hi,

I need some advice. Has anyone ever used Dr. Lynn Gardner's Math Made Easy? It has excellent reviews.

I have taken the core math 3 times with scores ranging from 136, 140, 142. Each time the test is different. I know that is basic math, but I'm not sure what's going on with me and these problems. Time is usually a factor for me though too. I always have to rush at the end because I take my time in the beginning. Pacing is hard for me while doing math. Anyway, I have purchased ETS'...

Hi,

I'm preparing for CSET Writing test this weekend. I was wondering if I can change the font in the exam. For example, I need to use italic when I mention a book name.

Scoring for the Praxis Core

Today I took the Praxis Core test, and I am just curious what the difference will be for the unofficial and official scores. For the reading I got a 184 unofficial, and a 150 for the math. Im not worried about the reading however i am worried the official score for the math will be lower then the 150. (I need 150 to pass)

Also how is the writing scored? I am usually great when it comes to writing but by the time I got to the writing portion I was mentally exhausted so I don't feel...

I recently took the PRAXIS CORE and passed both Reading and Math, except Writing.

VCLA - Freaking Out!

I took the VCLA this morning and now I'm freaking out. My unofficial score is Reading - 80% and Writing - 71%. I know that they still need to score the composition.

I hate having to wait for my official results to get here to tell me if I passed or not.

Do you think I passed? Thanks for your help!

hi this my first time on this forum. Looking for some help/advice about my scores. I received an 80% on my reading. I'm pretty sure that's passing correct? However, I'm concerned about my writing score. I got a 51%. Of course they haven't scored my essay, short answer, and summary but has anyone else passed with a 51% as a start? What score would I need on the essays in order to pass? Thanks, Garria

I have given my Plt 7-12 twice and have missed it by 3 points and 9 respectively next week taking the core reading test and am really nervous and scared can someone suggest what do I study or how exactly

Did I pass my CBEST?

I got a 49 on reading, 54 on math, and 39 on my writing. Total score was 142, I know passing is 123 and my status says "CBEST Status: Passed". What confuses me is the 39 on the writing and it's below the 41. It says not passed so does that mean I have to retake the writing portion of the test? Or am I okay and I don't have to worry bc I passed? Thanks

Do you have to take the exams in a certain order with the combined exam?
Also does each section have to be completed (ie. can I skip and not take the math exam?) I was nervous about sitting for the entire 5 hours so I have already taken and passed the core math, I just need to take the reading and writing exams. Thanks

Hi all,
Just failed for the 3rd time although 2 times were 2-3 years ago. My score report shows I need some help in all areas. I already had a tutor but he really didn't know what to teach me. Anyone have a success story for a 51 year old that was never good at

How hard is the Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators Tests (Praxis Core)?

I am thinking of going back to school for ESL K-12 certification at Rider University, NJ and apparently this is a new test for teacher prep programs. Did anyone take this test?


Right now, I am an aide in a 3rd grade class. Is there material from high school on this test?

I probably have one more chance to pass this so that I can teach next year. I am going to take it next week and the ELA GK is the last one I have left. I have taken it three times.

My three scores
  • 156
  • 181
  • 181


On my last test I got...
  • 56% of Knowledge Language Structure so 5/9
  • 70% of Knowledge of Vocabulary application so 7/10
  • 55% of knowledge of English Conventions so 11/20

Can one really take the SAT to satisfy CBEST?

I just want to make sure, over on the CTC site it says that you could

6. Achieve minimum acceptable scores on the College Board SAT examination: a score of at least 500 on the SAT English exam and a score of at least 550 on the SAT mathematics exam.

I just want to make sure if this is another option.

The SAT is $43 and the CBEST is around $100, so that gives me a reason to take SAT over CBEST.

Hello teachers,
My question is if I passed my math (score 55) and reading (45) and failed my writing, due to not enough time, do I have to retake all of them? I did not want to wait a month and paid to take the computer based testing and passed the writing (score 45) and failed the other two subtests on purpose because I had passed the other 2 from a previous test. I was told that they take the highest scores and being thatI have a score of 55,45,45, and well over the 41 score to pass, I...
